DID Conference, Lake Ohrid, Macedonia, July, 2009

In July, Victoria Bull (Northglenn High School) and Jennifer Portillo (Denver School of International Studies) joined CELD staff to participate in the fourth annual Deliberating in a Democray(DID) conference.

More than 80 DID participants from 12 nations/sites traveled to Lake Ohrid, Macedonia, to work together to improve classroom discussions of controversial issues.

The Macedonia DID team also organized an outstanding social program – a field trip to a nearby village for traditional Macedonian food and music, a boat ride on Lake Ohrid, and a fascinating historical tour of several churches dating back to the 13th Century.
