enhance civic literacy and competence of Colorado students
by providing opportunities for students to study, practice,
and engage in active democratic citizenship; |

To provide and promote opportunities for the professional
development of teachers who are directly linked to what
young people need to learn to be successful, active
citizens; |

To develop, research, and disseminate resources for
instruction and assessment of learning; |

To collaborate with other institutions, organizations
and agencies to promote public awareness of and advocate
for education in democracy as an important component
of the school curriculum; and |
To grow partnerships between educators and lawyers,
judges, law enforcement officers, legislators and other
public officials.
