CELD was pleased to collaborate with Zuzana Srankova and Marcela Maslova, Directors of the ORAVA Association for Democracy in Education in presenting a Civitas-sponsored seminar in the High Tatras of Slovakia, March 25-27, 2004. Participants explored the benefits and challenges of using a global issues approach to teaching civic education. Of special interest to our Slovak colleagues was the Project Citizen Portfolio, "What Programs for Illegal Workers?" researched and prepared by students from Aurora Central (CO) High School.
