With funding provided by the European Commission, the Center for Education in Law and Democracy has begun an 18 month initiative for teachers of government, economics, world history, and geography to implement comparative democracy lessons in middle and high school courses.
New lessons from this project will provide students with a deeper understanding of European democratic institutions and cultures while simultaneously enhancing their understanding of U.S. government.
Teachers will have the opportunity to enhance courses with updated knowledge on the evolution of the EU, EU integration, European identity and current issues facing the EU today.
Teachers and students will also have the opportunity to interact directly with European scholars in several phases of the program. |
